The Office of Arid Lands Studies (OALS) is a multidisciplinary research, instruction, and knowledge transfer unit in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at the University of Arizona in Tucson. Arab Center for the Studies of Arid Zones and Drylands The International Institute for Sustainable Development (IISD) contributes to sustainable development by advancing policy recommendations on international trade and investment, economic policy, climate change, measurement and assessment, and natural resources management. The Development Studies Association (DSA) promotes the advancement of knowledge on international development, disseminates information on development research and training and encourages interdisciplinary exchange and cooperation. Special Study groups on e.g. Agriculture & Rural Development, Conflict & Human Security, Disasters & Development, Environment, Resources & Sustainable Development, Livestock, Multidimensional Poverty and Urban Policy provide a way of sharing information.
